Senate Appointment Form

Eligibility Requirements

For appointment to the Student Senate, you must:

  • Be currently enrolled at UT Dallas (at least 9 SCH for undergraduate students, 6 SCH for graduate students)
  • Not be on scholastic or disciplinary probation with the University
  • Be available to attend Senate meetings
  • Attend at least one Senate and one committee meeting prior to appointment

Note: No appointments may take place while any Student Government election is underway. This includes filing and campaigning periods.

Available Seats

In order to be appointed, you must be eligible to fill a seat that is currently unoccupied. A number of seats are allocated for students from each academic school, for freshman, graduate, and transfer students, as well as at-large seats, which are open to all students. The following seats are currently open for appointment:

School of Engineering and Computer Science (ECS)1
School of Management (JSOM)1
School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics (NSM)1
School of Interdisciplinary Studies (IS)1
School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences (BBS)1

If you’re interested in serving, but don’t see any seats available that you would be eligible for, check back later, as more seats may open over the course of the year.

Each Senator will serve on one Student Government committee. If appointed, which are your top three committee choices?

I, the undersigned UT Dallas student, grant the Office of Student Development at The University of Texas at Dallas access to my student records, including my grade point average, enrollment status, and disciplinary record. I further authorize Student Development to share the information with regard to my eligibility to individuals who will need to know this information. I understand this information may be shared with the Student Government president and advisor(s) should there be an educational or constitutional need (including, but not limited to requests from the organization, calculating statistics, or determining my eligibility to hold office) to do so. I understand that this authorization is in effect throughout the term of my membership in the Student Government.
